Gary (Dad) - Guitar, Drums, Vocals, Piano
Gary started playing guitar when he was 8, started playing drums in 6th grade band then majored in percussion in college Michigan Christian Jr. College and finished his BA at Oklahoma Christian College where he met Jan. He grew up singing in church, a cappella and still sings a lot. He started writing songs the same year he started playing guitar. He still enjoys putting thoughts into music and several original songs can be found under the Music link.
He has been the Worship Leader for the Quail Springs Church of Christ since 1994. He's also been teaching guitar and percussion at Oklahoma Christian since 1976. In 1979 he started Bruce Piano Service and now owns Bruce Musical Services, Inc.
Jan (Mom) - Piano, Vocals
The leader of the pack. Vvroom, Vvroom!! Jan's been teaching piano for a long time. Taught all the kids to play. She's a certified music teacher and has taught at Oklahoma Christian Academy, Cimarron Middle School, Cheyenne Middle School and Oklahoma Christian University plus she teaches numerous private piano students and accompanies a lot of students for Solo & Ensemble competitions. She earned her B.A. in music w/emphasis in piano and later completed her Alternative Certification to teach music in public schools. She met Gary when both were music students at OCC. She has a fanatical, unnatural love for dogs, Military History and all things Christmasy, especially Christmas music.
Jordan - Guitar, Vocals
He surprised us with those original songs and guitar playing, that dormant passion for music was finally allowed to bloom. Took pianos lessons from mom, but preferred soccer. After his freshman year as a business major at OC Jordan enrolled in The American Broadcasting School, received his certification then decided radio broadcasting wasn't what he wanted to do. Jordan has had several interesting employment situations that have each contributed in unique ways to his interest in business. He's now in business for himself as a piano tuner, following in Gary's footsteps but making his own way in the world of pianos. Check out his website at Bruce Piano Service. He bought his first house in September of 2007. It just happens to be the house that Jan and Gary built back when Jordan was a baby (1983-87) and moved into in 1987 but sold in 1993.
Adam - Percussion, Vocals
Just one of the best percussionists around. Studied with dad, David Steffans, David Hardman and Lee Overstreet. Marched four years with Division 1 Drum and Bugle Corps (Colts 2004-05, Bluecoats 2006 and the Cavaliers 2007). Adam has played at The Juilliard School and Lincoln Center in NYC and thinks it would be cool to perform with the Blue Man Group after college.
Adam graduated with a BME from Oklahoma Christian University with percussion as his major instrument.
He works with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps based in San Antonio and continues to teach lessons and write percussion at Edmond Memorial, Cimarron Middle School and privately. In 2009 Adam was accepted as an Educational Artist with Innovative Percussion. He is employed by Casady School in Oklahoma City as their Middle School and High School Percussion Teacher.
