The BRUCE Gang: Music
King In The Cradle
(Gary)
by Gary L. Bruce Copyright 2003
Live Christmas Season Celebration recording in 2007 with Rebekah playing strings, Adam drums and other Quail members singing backup. Our friend Nelson is playing bass, Richard's playing electric. In 2003 we did a dramatic presentation that had a song for each scene and what it was that drew each person or group to worship Jesus. For the shepherds it was the heavenly host. For wise men-the star. Mary-the angel. Joseph-the dream. The last song was to invite each attendee to come worship at the cradle but the song the script suggested didn't fit as well as the others, so I wrote this one.
Recording needs some mixing but you get the idea.
LYRICS
Come to the cradle come see the King
Come see the reason the angels did sing
Come see the One of Whom shepherds tell
The One Whom the wise men brought gifts to, and fell
On their knees now worshiping Christ,
God's only Son
Now He calls them to come
Come worship the King, the King in the cradle.
Mary the mother cradles her Son
Joseph will father Him, God's chosen One
Sent here in swaddling clothes and a crown
Calling us all to believe and fall down
On our knees now worshiping Christ,
God's only Son
Now He calls us to come
Come worship the King, the King in the cradle.
Come see the King, now high on His throne
Fall on your knees let your heart be His home
Born in the manger, born now within
I give my heart as a cradle for Him
On my knees now worshiping Christ,
God's only Son
Now He calls me to come
Come worship the King, the King in the cradle.
Oh fall on your knees now worshiping Christ,
God's only Son
Now He calls us to come
Come worship the King, the King in the cradle.
