The BRUCE Gang: Audio/Video
Glorify It On The Screen
(Zazoo)
Written by Paul Medina and Joe Kirkpatrick
This was recorded in 1979 at Producers Workshop as a part of an album called Oklahoma City LIVE. The album cover says "Oklahoma City LIVE is a very special album, featuring the finest musical talent in the area ... a collection of songs as performed by ten of the best bands in Oklahoma ... representing a wide range of music ... from soft and hard rock to jazz, country rock and bluegrass ... a varied sample of music, demontrating the excellence of musical talent in and around the OKC area."
I think Zazoo represented the hard rock style pretty well.
Other bands on the album are: Medicine Park, Mountain Smoke, Moondog, Pacific Fast Mail, Spears Hardin Band, Whitewater, Ken Clark Quartet, Turning Point and Ice.
ZAZOO was:
Paul Medina - Lead Vocal
Joe Kirkpatrick - Guitar
Michael Stewart - Guitar & Vocals
Wally Reinig - Bass & Vocals
Gary Bruce - Drums & Vocals
LYRICS
I can't believe it's so, I saw the picture show
It's been on my mind.
Eating your buttered corn, always a sucker born who'll pay
to watch the dead, yeah.
Bloody victims sell,
I hear war is hell,
Glorify it on the screen.
I can't believe it's so, I saw the picture show.
Well it's been, it's been, it's been on my mind.
I guess I been hypnotized, it's hard to realize
That all along, all along, all along I've been blind.
